Mada Clinics is a medical and education charity set up to offer free healthcare and
schooling to the people of Madagascar. We offer several volunteering opportunities
in rural settings.
Mada Clinics operates two medical clinics in rural settings, as well as mobile clinics visiting outlying villages. It also runs a village school and offers assistance to nearby schools to help teach English & French to the children.
We are looking for people from all walks of life to volunteer to work alongside our dedicated healthcare teams and the local teachers.
Without the intervention of Mada Clinics, the local villagers (approximately 15,000 adults and children) would have no access to healthcare, as the only other facilities are more than 20 miles away in the local town. The Clinics offer free consultations by a locally trained nurse, and provides free medication to all patients.
The two Clinics see over 400 patients each month. Mada Clinics is also involved in the Madagascar government vaccination program to local children and pregnant mothers and the distribution of free mosquito nets for the prevention of Malaria.
We also run a full-time rural school as well as assisting the teachers at three local schools. We are also starting an assessment of the biodiversity in the area.
There are volunteer positions available at Mada Clinics, for periods of two weeks, or longer, for anyone interested in making a difference to the people of Madagascar.
Mada Clinics International was established to make a difference to the people of Madagascar. It is a UK registered charity (no. 1129593).
We need volunteers to help work in our village and to teach English or French in nearby schools.
